The Long-awaited ASUS Eee PC 1215N Lands In Europe In September

Posted on 05. Aug, 2010 by Ricky in Netbooks

ASUS Eee PC 1215NThe first ever dual-core netbook from ASUS is almost here, well at least for Europe. The ASUS Eee PC tantalized millions when it was first mentioned, and why wouldn’t it? This netbook is set to feature the Intel Atom D525 dual-core CPU, the Nvidia ION 2 graphics engine which has 512MB of dedicated video memory. This netbook is about to be the first real performance netbook with a netbook sized price tag, when it starts to sell in September it will cost €499.

To re-think it this mobile computer isn’t the average netbook and can actually be considered in the ultra-portable laptop category. The ASUS Eee PC 1215N comes with a 12.1″ (1366 x 768) LED-backlit display which is a good 2-inches bigger than the average 10.1″ netbook. Don’t thing that the bigger screen means this Eee PC isn’t portable it does still only weight about 1.45kg.

Eitherway, here are some more features you should know about if you are considering buying this netbook/ultra-portable. The other features include 2GB of RAM, a 250GB built-in hard drive w/ 500 GB of online ASUS e-storage,  a 0.3 megapixel webcam, 10/100 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 , an SD/MMC card reader, a HDMI output, and a 6-cell (5200 mAh) battery providing up to 7 hours of operation.

The ASUS Eee PC 1215N will run Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit (the Express Gate instant-on OS is present too) and is going to be sold in three color versions – red, black and silver. [Via]
