AMD’s C-50 Ontario APU From The Brazos Platform Get’s Benchmarked

AMD Fusion APUThe Acer Aspire AO522 netbook flavored with one of the latest AMD Fusion APU’s the AMD C-50 Ontario was launched just a few days ago but a lot of people still questioned the performance of the C-50. To remedy that netbooknews has put together a review of the new C-50 with the help of the Toshiba NB550D netbook.

After doing the benchmarking for the C-50 APU –a dual-core 1.0 GHz processor with an AMD Radeon 6250 GPU– and the results were quite clear. The C-50 APU beat out the 1.50 GHz Intel Atom N550 + Nvidia ION GPU setup by a fair amount (+388) in 3DMark06, but when the N550 is on had the Intel GMA 3150 GPU the C-50 demolished it by a lot (+1,000) in the same benchmark. However in the same benchmark the 1.0 GHz C-50 couldn’t beat out the 1.66 GHz Intel Atom D510 or 1.83 GHz Intel Atom D525.

You can check out the full review here and you can check out the video below which showcases live gaming and HD video performance for a netbook running on the C-50 APU.
