Acer Aspire One D257 White SeashellA new Acer Aspire One netbook has surfaced in Europe. Acer Aspire One D257 is the name for the new netbook exposed. The netbook features what is pretty much the standard setup for an Intel netbook in 2011, a 1.50 GHz Intel Atom N550 dual-core processor and Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics.

However to differentiate/justify the new D257 Acer has done two things, for one they have used a new lid design and second they have made the netbook a dual-boot netbook. The new lid design mimics with very good accuracy the wavy effect of a water drop onto still waters (see the video below to see what I mean). The D257 will be able to boot into either Windows 7 Starter or into Google’s Android OS (version unknown).

Acer at this time has only shown the new netbook but they have not announced a release date or price for the netbook. Although when Acer does launch the D257 they will be launching it with three color choices Aquamarine, Dark Chocolate and White Seashell. You can check out the D257 in the video below and see the main netbooks main specs. at the bottom.

I am considering replacing my old netbook, so it is good to see some really thoughtful posts and reviews on the available options.
