Asus Intros New Eee PC Netbook, Asus Eee PC 1011PX/R011PX

Asus has announced a new but not so new netbook for their expansive Eee PC family. The Asus Eee PC 1011PX or R011PX in Europe is the new but not so new model. The netbook is new but not so new because it’s really the Asus Eee PC 1001PX body styling wise.

The only improvement you get over the similarly designed 1001PX with the 1011PX/R011PX is the Intel Atom N455 1.66 GHz processor. The N455 is a single-core processor with 2 threads and 512 KB of L2 cache. Performance wise the N455 is only slightly better than the Intel Atom N450 which is found in the 1001PX but the N455 does support DDR3 RAM (1GB is supplied in the 1011PX/R011PX).

Some main features included with the 1011PX/R011PX netbook is a 10.1-inch LCD screen, 1GB of DDR3 memory, 250GB hard drive, integrated webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, a 7-cell battery (expect long battery life) and Windows 7 Starter OS. Asus will be launching the 1011PX/R011PX in coming weeks for a starting price of $449 (including tax). [Via]
